SIC Membership Types

Elected: Parents – Teachers and

Students (Grades 9-12)

• Parents, teachers, students elected by their peers
• Serve staggered two-year terms
• Elections held annually by October 15
• Method of election determined by individual SICs

Appointed: Community Members

• Principal appoints community members with input from SIC
• Length of term established in local SIC bylaws

Ex-Officio: Principal (required by law)

• Serve on SIC by virtue of another position that they hold such

as Assistant Principal, PTO Rep, Business Partner, etc.

• Ex-officio positions created by listing them in local bylaws.
