JASPER COUNTY eLearning EXPECTATIONS

As we prepare for occasions that will require eLearning days for our students, it is important that
Jasper County School District’s eLearning Expectations are clear to all. Jasper County School
District is a state approved eLearning District. Therefore, it is important to share these
expectations to ensure when eLearning is necessary, instruction will be uninterrupted.
To better understand the expectations and help prepare our students, please read the following
information regarding instruction and extracurricular activities:
After School Activities
Athletic events, after school activities, or Extended Day Academy (i.e., Boys and Girls Club,
JCSD Academic Academy) will not be held on eLearning days.
Attendance
Students are required to attend school every eLearning day.
If a student is absent, they must provide a written excuse or doctor’s excuse. Excuses can
be emailed to your prospective schools' attendance personnel, dropped off, or mailed to
the school.
For students to be counted present, he/she must be active online during the assigned class
time and cameras must be on. Students will receive SC-VTP as a PRESENT code. Any
student who does not log in will be assigned an Unexcused Absence (SC-UNEX).
Students reporting more than five (5) minutes after class start time will be marked Tardy
(SC-UTRD). Any student missing more than half of the class will be considered absent.
Attendance will be coded as Unexcused or Excused depending on the student’s situation.
When the teacher takes attendance, students must verbally respond to the teacher.
Throughout the class, a teacher may call on students to answer a question or comment,
but if they do not answer after multiple attempts, they may be marked absent for class.
Classroom Behavior
Students should remain actively engaged in the class.
The chat feature is disabled. Therefore, students must keep their camera on and
mute/unmute their microphone when necessary. Any student who disrupts the class will
be reprimanded accordingly.
Students should have their devices charged and be dressed appropriately for school as
they attend their TEAMS session.
Students should not interrupt or disrupt the online learning environment.
Students should remain muted until called upon by their teacher.
Assignments/Late Work
Due date: Assignments are due on the day listed by the teacher. All assignments should
be turned in on the assigned due dates.
Students with excused absences will be allowed to make-up the missed work.
If students are unable to attend eLearning sessions due to lack of internet connection or
lack of electrical power, students will have five (5) days to make-up work. All make-up
work must be turned in no later than the fifth day following the first
12: 20 pm 2:00 pm Social Studies, Science, and Related Arts
Students are to work on their posted assignments for Science, Social Studies, and Related Arts in
TEAMS with access to Nearpod for instruction and assignments.

There will be no school in the building. However, students are expected to log on to their devices at 8:30 in the morning for eLearning.

Elementary Schools (Grades Pre-K 5
th)
Instructional times for elementary students will be:
8:30 am 9:30 am Math (Live instruction via TEAMS)
9:30 am 9:40 am 10-minute break
9:40 am 10:40 am ELA (Live instruction via TEAMS)
Students should return and log back into their grade-level TEAMS by 12:15 pm.
